Mr González has been in hiding, and a warrant were issued for his arrest because of his insistence that he’s the rightful winner of July’s election.
“After taking shelter voluntarily on the Spanish embassy in Caracas a couple of days in the past, (Gonzalez Urrutia) requested the Spanish govt for political asylum,” Venezuela’s Vice-President Delcy Rodríguez stated on social media.
